A family from North Kashmir’s district Kupwara along with various relatives and locals staged protest demonstrations at Press Enclave here, demanding arrest of persons involved in arson and loot that caused death of 2 year old baby.

Muhammad Ishfaq Chachi of Natosa Tursoo Kupwara along with other family members raised pro-justice slogans and appealed police higher ups to intervene personally in the case and direct concerned police station to expedite the investigation and arrest accused persons.

“During the intervening night of July 28/29, some persons set my residential house in fire. All my family members were inside the house at that time. In this arson, I lost my 2 year baby Shabnum who was charred to death,” Chachi told CNS.

He added that police had registered the case in this matter and arrested few persons. “The majority of the culprits are evading arrest and I appeal police higher ups to direct concerned police station to expedite the investigation and nab the accused,” he said.
