Police Rescue Trapped British Girls in Leh

A group of 31 British citizens including 08 locals was rescued in Leh who were trapped due to flash floods between Markha-Sko areas of Police Station Leh on 5th of August after they went for trekking on 2nd of August 2015.

A group of 23 British citizens comprising of one male (group leader) one female teacher and 21 female students besides 08 local guides and cooks were trapped due to flash floods in between Markha-Sko areas of Police Station Leh on 5th of August 2015. The group went for trekking on 2nd of August 2015, a police statement said Friday evening.

After receiving the information, a police party from Police Station Leh headed by HC Muhammad Isa and a team of SDRF, supervised by SP Leh Dr. Sunil Gupta-IPS started a rescue operation. The police party reached the spot with ration after 12 hours of journey by foot. The group was safely rescued with the help of helicopter and was shifted to Moonline Guest House in Leh.
