In North Kashmir, Mentally Challenged Jumps in to Jhelum, Dies; Two Others Consume Poison

In bid to end their lives, two ladies consumed poison in North Kashmir while a mentally unsound man jumped into river Jehlum in Sopore, a police statement said Monday afternoon.

A 23 years old lady (name with held) resident of Laridora Chandoosa, Baramulla consumed some poisonous substance at her home. She was shifted to District Hospital, Baramulla for  treatment.

And another girl (name with held) resident of Marhama Trehgam, Kupwara consumed some poisonous substance at her home. She was shifted to Sub District Hospital, Kupwara for treatment. Police have registered cases in both the incidents.

Meanwhile, a 42 years mentally unsound person Fayaz Ahmad Malik, son of Abdul Aziz resident of Adipora, Sopore jumped into river Jehlum near Hathishah Bridge, Sopore. Efforts are on to retrieve the body of the deceased.
