As early as 5 am on Sunday, a Srinagar bound Tavera met an accident on Srinagar-Jammu highway.
Reports reaching here said that two of the eleven passengers are dead as the vehicle rolled down into a 60ft gorge near Shaitan Nallah.
The passengers were dead on the spot and nine others were rescued to a nearby hospital.
Reports identified deceased as Nisha Rani, wife of Ajay Kumar R/o Kunjwani, aged 30/32 yrs; Kartik Singh s/o Ajay Kumar age 1-2 yrs, resident of Kunjwani.
While the injured were identified as:
Ajay Kumar s/o Ram Dutta (Driver), r/o Kunjwani; Rakesh Kumar s/o Sat Pal, r/o Grama Chak Pathankot; Ramandeep s/o Sat Pal r/o Grama Chak Pathankot; Jasvinder Singh s/o Maan Singh, r/o Essapur Sangroor Punjab; Tirath Bandhan Laxmi w/o Vikram Singh; Manisha d/o Vikram Singh; Sakesh Sharma s/o Billawar Singh, r/o Bantalab; Vikram s/o Gopal, r/o Nepal.
All the injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital Banihal for treatment.
