SRINAGAR: The security personnel have stepped up patrols and implemented stringent precautions to counter any potential effort of infiltration from across the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.
Quoting officials, KNO reported that there is a greater chance of militant infiltration from across the border prior to snowfall in Kashmir’s border regions. In order to stop any possible infiltrators, the jawans of the Army and BSF are enforcing strict measures along the Line of Control in North Kashmir.
“As winter approaches, there is a concern that militants might try to infiltrate. The Army and Border Security Forces have increased patrols in areas along the LoC in districts including Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora, Poonch and Rajouri,” officials said.
The proactive measure aims to counter potential infiltration, aligning with the government’s directive for security forces to intensify vigilance on identified infiltration routes.
Officials added that October was a particularly an active month as multiple infiltration attempts were thrawted by forces along LoC. “Security forces neutralized five militants along the Line of Control in the Macchil sector of Kupwara on October 26, and two militants were killed in the Uri sector of Baramulla district on October 26 during an unsuccessful attempt at infiltration.”
“In June this month, 11 infiltrators were eliminated, and a substantial amount of arms and ammunition was recovered from them,” the official said.
The official stated that, utilizing extensive training, advanced surveillance systems, and meticulous planning, they implement a multi-layered defense mechanism to thwart potential infiltrations.
“We employ a combination of routine patrols, the latest gadget technologies, and intelligence gathering to acquire crucial information about any suspicious activities near the LOC. This intelligence is swiftly analyzed and responded to, ensuring the swift neutralization of infiltrators before they can breach Indian territory,” they added.
