The ailing mother of incarcerated secretary general of Mulsim League Mohammad Rafiq Ganie of Telwani Achabal Islamabad has been admitted in Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Soura Srinagar. She is suffering from gastrointestinal issues and according to family sources her condition is worsening.
Rafiq’s brother Mohammad Ashraf, who is attending his mother, appealed the state authorities that Rafiq should be allowed to visit his mother. He said, “My mother is dying to see his son and she has been repeatedly calling his name.”
Rafiq is in Jammu’s Kotbalwal jail from the past eight months after he was arrested from his Achabal home during the 2016 summer uprising.
“I request the government to allow my brother meet his mother just once before she breathes her last on humanitarian grounds,” Ashraf told Kashmir Life over phone from the hospital.
