SRINAGAR: Armies of Indian and Pakistan on Friday late evening exchanged shells along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district.

Reports said that Pakistani troops today evening fired towards forward posts and villages along the Line of Control in Poonch.

An official said that the mortar shelling and small arms firing from across the border started in in Kirni, Qasba and Malti sectors around 6 in the evening.

“The Indian Army retaliated befittingly,” he said.

However, there was no report of any casualty from either side of the border till now.
