India Urges Caution, Advises Against Non-Essential Iran Travel

   

SRINAGAR: India’s Ministry of External Affairs has advised Indian citizens to refrain from non-essential travel to Iran in view of recent developments, while urging those already in the country to remain cautious.

The advisory asks Indian nationals and Persons of Indian Origin in Iran to avoid areas witnessing protests or demonstrations and to stay informed through credible media reports as well as updates issued by the Indian Embassy in Tehran via its official website and social media platforms.

Indian citizens residing in Iran on long-term visas have also been asked to register with the Indian Embassy if they have not done so, to facilitate assistance when required.

The ministry said the advisory will remain in force until further notice, stressing the importance of vigilance for Indian nationals in Iran or planning to travel there.
