SRINAGAR: An Indian citizen was among 12 people killed in overnight Russian missile and drone strikes across Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Tuesday.
Zelenskyy said dozens of others were injured in the attacks, which damaged residential buildings and civilian infrastructure in several regions.
In a post on X, the Ukrainian President said Russian forces used a significant number of jet-powered drones and ballistic missiles during the overnight assault.
“Overall, 12 people were killed, including an Indian citizen, and dozens more were wounded,” Zelenskyy said, while extending condolences to the families of those killed.
The attack came shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and again during the event.
