SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited forward areas in the Baramulla and Uri sectors on Thursday, where he met frontline soldiers and assessed the operational preparedness near the Line of Control.
During the interaction, the LG addressed the troops with the phrase “How is the josh?”, receiving a spirited “High, Saheb!” in response, reflecting high morale among the soldiers amid heightened cross-border tensions.
Addressing the personnel, LG Sinha said the armed forces remain committed to neutralising terrorist threats and safeguarding India’s sovereignty. “Our soldiers have one mission — destroy the enemy’s capability to attack Bharat and protect our citizens,” he said.
Referring to recent counter-terror operations, the LG said the government is committed to eliminating terrorism and warned that any harm to Indian citizens will invite strong retaliation. “If you inflict injury on any Indian, we will hunt you down,” he stated.
Highlighting the importance of peace for development, Sinha said that peace is the foundation of prosperity and assured people of Jammu and Kashmir that the security forces are committed to maintaining order and security.
Referring to Operation Sindoor, the LG said India responded firmly after the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians. “Terrorist bases were targeted in response. Our forces have delivered a fitting reply,” he added.
Sinha praised the armed forces for their dedication and sacrifice, stating that the country stands united behind them. He also invoked national unity, stating that 140 crore citizens are in solidarity with the soldiers.
