Pakistani Rangers and BSF troops on Monday exchanged fire along the International Border (IB) in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources said that Pakistani Rangers fired few small mortar bombs on Border out Posts along the IB in Samba sector during Sunday night, however they said that there was no firing on civilian areas.

Sources added that the mortar shells were targeted on Karol Krishna and Londi BoPs along the IB in Hiranagar belt of Kathua district.

Firing exchanges were witnessed along the IB in Kathua district on January 6 as well.

Five persons, including four soldiers and a woman, died in the Pakistan firing and shelling along Indo-Pak border in Jammu and Kashmir in the current month of January.

More than 10,000 people were also displaced due to the firing.

India and Pakistan always accuse each other after every incident of firing along IB and the Line of Control (LoC).
