The metrology department Monday predicted snow or rain in the Kashmir region in next 24 hours.
“Light rain and snow could occur at isolated places over the state,” a MeT official said.
He added that fog would occur in plains of Jammu division.
He said that high reaches of the valley are likely to receive light to heavy snow fall while as plains would witness moderate rainfall in the coming two days.
Kashmir valley is dry so for even in days of Chillai Kallan, the coldest forty days of the season according to Kashmiri calendar which started on December 22.
