National Conference (NC) Additional General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal Saturday said that State population are in love with the original shape and size of the autonomous status enjoyed earlier by the State and cannot be convinced with out restoration of constitutional position of the State legislature, flag and the administrative status.
While addressing party workers at Nawa-i-Subh Zero Bridge, Dr Kamal said that Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh having realized the formula as beneficial and having also said that General Musharaf’s exit from the post of head of Pakistan government proved a stumbling blockade in the process of resolution of the basic issue.
“It will be in the interest of the State population that pre 1953 position is restored and also steps are taken to implemented it on both sides of the dividing line pending Pakistan is politically strong and able to play its part in the negotiations,” said Dr Kamal.
He further said that NC will under all circumstances, play its role in the process of restoration of internal autonomy, which is cherished most by the Kashmiris. “Such a development will also add to the prestige of the country besides finding final resolution of the decades olds twisted Kashmir issue.”
Dr Kamal in his address appreciated Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh for nominating Rahul Gandhi as his successor for the PM post.
“Rahul will succeed in strengthening secular and democratic image of the country and the down trodden classes of the society will be benefited most,” he said.
