The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) in response to a statement made by former Intelligence head AS Dulat, Thursday said that the APHC has always held the view that the best way to solve the Kashmir issue is to respect the aspirations of the people of Kashmir and execute the promises made to them so that an end could be put to the suffering and problems of the Kashmiri people and a new era  of peace, progress and stability can begin in the South Asian Region.

In a statement issued to a local news agency, CNS, spokesperson APHC said, “Hurriyat believes that dialogue between the three parties India Pakistan and the People of Jammu and Kashmir could also provide an alternative towards the resolution of this last standing issue. In this spirit talks were held previously and measures suggested to move forward towards that end , but instead of moving forward Indian policy makers have not only ignored the measures suggested by the APHC  but have hardened their approach towards Kashmir.”

He said Hurriyat believes that unless there is sincerity and seriousness on part of all the stakeholders no movement forward can happen.

Pertinently, Former head of India’s intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), AS Dulat had told CNS that Government of India should engage the Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Faooq in a dialogue over Kashmir issue so that the deadlock between separatist groups and New Delhi is over.
