SRINAGAR: An IndiGo aircraft operating from Navi Mumbai to Srinagar made contact with a Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS) pole while being manoeuvred into its parking bay at Srinagar Airport on Friday morning, officials said.
The aircraft, operating as flight 6E 225 (VT-NOG), was being parked at Bay No. 06 when the incident occurred at about 9:02 am, according to the Srinagar Airport Authority.
All passengers and crew members were safe and there were no reports of injuries. They were subsequently deboarded from the aircraft using manual stairs, the airport authority said in a statement.
The authority said the incident would be investigated by the competent authorities under the prescribed procedures to determine the circumstances involved.
It added that the precise cause would be established after the inquiry is completed and that no conclusions should be drawn before the investigation is concluded.
Airport operations continued normally, with scheduled arrivals and departures unaffected, the authority said.
