Armies of both India and Pakistan on Tuesday exchanged gunfire in Degwar area of Poonch district.

An official said that two shells landed near the army establishment at around 7:30, this morning, from Pakistan and then firing started from both the sides. However, he said there were no immediate reports of any casualty in the incident.

Meanwhile an army official said that troops deployed in the Gulpur sector retaliated and responded to “ceasefire violation”.

However, there was no damage reported from either side of the border.
