SRINAGAR: Army on Wednesday claimed to have killed a militant after foiling an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Keri area of Bhimber Gali Sector in Rajouri district.
An army spokesman in a statement said, “Based on specific intelligence inputs from J&K Police, a joint operation was launched close to Line of Control in Keri area of Bhimber Gali Sector in District Rajouri.”
“(Militants) were seen crossing the Line of Control and the alert troops of Indian Army foiled the infiltration bid resulting in killing of one (militant),” the spokesman said, adding, “One AK-47 with two magazines (was) recovered. The search operation is in progress.”
