MLA Devsar Mohammad Amin Bhat on Sunday held a protest at Qazigund against the government and threatened of highway blockade if enquiry is not initiated in the killings that took place in the Devsar constituency in 2016 unrest.

After killing of Burhan Wani, as valley erupted , at least five people were killed in the Devsar constituency.

“Government promised that enquiry will be initiated in the killings but this has not happened in even a single case,”  Bhat said, while addressing his party workers who were protesting with him.

“Infact police was being directed to arrest particular people by the by some people in power,” he alleged  ” and only innocents were put behind bars.”

Bhat demanded immediate release of the detained youth.

While lashing at the government he said, people are suffering from all sides. “There is no electricity in this harsh winter and government is totally sleeping,” the Congress MLA said.
