Bodo Rico, the injured Swiss para-glider who was trapped in upper Machail near Padder, was finally rescued by IAF. He has been shifted him to Government Medical College Jammu.

The rescue operations were intensified after Kashmir Life broke the story. The government, interestingly, was busy in a tourism related event in Jammu as Rico was waiting for rescue in the mountains.

Rico survived a serious accident in the mountains. The spot being remote, his colleagues came down to Kishtwar to seek help. District administration was sensitive to the rescue but they were lacking a chopper.

“We shifted him to GMC Jammu Sunday morning along with other attendants” DC Kishtwar told Kashmir Life. “The delay was there because of closure of Swiss embassy on Saturday.”

Rico was part of seven foreigners and two Indians who had entered J&K through Himachal Pradesh. The spot where the accident took place is located at an altitude of over 13500 feet.
