Massive clashes erupted after forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) in Arwani village in southern part of Kashmir’s Kulgam district, reports said on Monday.
Police officials said that the operation was launched after a specific input about the presence of militants in the village. “Army and SOG cordoned off the village after inputs about the presence of militants today morning.”
Locals hit the streets and started pelting stones on forces to disrupt the operation and help militants escape from the CASO. They said that at least five youth have suffered injuries in the forces action.
Clashes were going on when this report was being filed.
