To avoid any untoward incident, authorities on Tuesday suspended the mobile internet service in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

An official said that the decision was taken as a precautionary measure, to avoid untoward incidents like protests. An official added that telecom operators have been asked to suspend the services.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that clashes between the people and government forces are going on near the gunfight site in Shopian.

Earlier, four militants and a Para commando were killed during an encounter. While, some reports suggest that two soldiers have also sustained injuries in the encounter and are said to be very critical now.
