Hours after authorities handed over the two dead bodies claimed by locals in Pulwama and Kulgam districts, internet services were suspended in many parts of south Kashmir.

Reports said the Internet service was snapped in the twin districts of Pulwama and Kulgam as a precautionary measure to avoid any disturbances.

Pertinently, the Bodies of two militants who were killed along with three other associates were exhumed, more than ten days after they were buried near Line of Control (LoC) at Tanghdar.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kupwara Ambarkar Shriram Dinkar said that the process to exhume the bodies were started after receiving formal orders from district magistrate Kupwara.

“The bodies have been exhumed this evening and handed over to respected families,” he said.

Shabir Ahmad Bhat, brother of slain Mudasir Ahmad Bhat of Parigam, Yaripora, Kulgam told GNS that bodies have been exhumed from Badwan village in Tanghdar in presence of district administration, police, and local auqaf, besides the families.

He said that the body of Sheraz Ahmad Sheikh of Lajoora, Pulwama was also exhumed and handed over to the legal heirs for proper burial.
