First ever IQRA campaign has been started in district Bandipora from Ist Ramadhan this month.
“The objective of the campaign is to teach all unlettered people writing their names instead of using thumb impression,” an official statement said Monday evening.
The District development Commissioner Bandipora has informed all village Education Committees, Preraks of Sakshar Bharat Mission and Gram Rozgar Sevak of Rural Development Department to mobilize the local educated youth for this purpose.
A cash prize of Rs 10,000 has also been announced for the best performer, the statement added.
