The grenade attack carried by suspected militants in South Kashmir’s Islamabad Wednesday left eight persons injured, including four CRPF men.

The injured civilians have been identified as Abdul Majeed Mir, s/o Habibullah of Kadipora, Islamabad; Abid Ali Lone, s/o Ali Mohammad of Sarnal, Islamabad; Gulam Mohammad Wani, s/o Mohammad Abdullah of Sagam, Kokernag; and Bashir Ahmad Allai, s/o Gulam Mohammad of Uttersoo, Shangus.

Among the four injured CRPF men are Nisar Ahmad, s/o Ali Mohammad of Poonch; Chander, s/o Tilak Raj (CRPF 96 Bn); Sunil Dure ( CRPF 96 Bn ) and Chaman Lal Sharma S/O Bakhshi Sharma ( CRPF 96 Bn).

Today’s attack was second grenade attack within a week in Islamabad. Earlier, suspected militants lobbed grenade at Achabal bus stand, leaving one local dead.

Eye-witnesses said that Wednesday’s attack was on a CRPF vehicle standing on KP Road near Women College.
