To commemorate the death anniversary of three youngsters killed in “cold blood by police” in Anchidora area, shut down was observed in South Kashmir’s Islamabad district on Saturday.

Three teenagers, Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khanday Shujat-ul-Islam and Imitiyaz Ahmad Itoo were killed in the compound of a house in Anchidora area during 2010 unrest.

According to CNS, business establishments, shops, schools and colleges remained closed, however private vehicles plied on the road normally.
A few days ago posters appeared at different places asking people to observe complete shutdown in the district against the murder of three unarmed youth by police.

Fateha Khwani was held in memory of the three teenagers in Anchidora and SK Colony areas and banners were also put in these areas.
‘Large contingent of police and Para-military troopers were deployed in the area to thwart any protest, however, the situation remained by and large peaceful,” police official said.
