A complete shutdown is being observed in most parts of the Islamabad district in southern part of Kashmir including the main town to mourn the killings of three militants killed in a “chance encounter” on Tuesday.

Three militants, Showket Lohar, a resident of Arwini area in Bijbehara, Muzaffar Hajam, a resident of Kokernag and Nasir Ahmad of Pohru Islamabad were killed in an Army ambush in Bulbul Nowgam area of Achabal in Islamabad district late last evening.

Local sources said that all shops, business establishments and educational institutions are closed while as public transport is off the roads.

Meanwhile, authorities have snapped high speed internet services in the district.
