SRINAGAR: At least 42 Palestinians were killed in a fresh wave of Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip on Sunday, Gaza’s Civil Defence said as per Al jazera report.
Civil Defence spokesperson Mahmoud Basal, according to Xinhua news said that seven people were killed in Israeli shelling near the Baptist Hospital in Gaza City, while another was killed in the Zeitoun neighbourhood. Four others lost their lives when an airstrike hit a tent sheltering displaced persons west of Khan Younis.
A series of strikes on different parts of Khan Younis killed 12 more, while three people died in separate attacks in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza. At least 15 others were killed by Israeli fire while waiting for aid in central and southern Gaza, Basal added.
According to Gaza’s health authorities, since Israel resumed its intensified military campaign on March 18, more than 10,400 Palestinians have been killed and over 43,800 injured. The overall toll since the war began in October 2023 has now risen to at least 61,944 dead and 155,886 wounded.
Meanwhile, health officials reported seven new deaths from starvation and malnutrition in the past 24 hours, including two children, raising the total to 258 deaths—110 of them children—since October.
On August 10, military aircraft from Jordan, the UAE, Germany, Italy, France, the Netherlands, and Belgium carried out a joint operation, airdropping 93 tonnes of food and humanitarian aid into Gaza, the Jordan Armed Forces said.
