He is reported to have reprimanded a company franchisee for not properly running the outlet. In response the franchisee holder identified as Govind reached his home with the intention to discuss the issue with Dar and his colleague Ganesh Trisathkar. As there was no breakthrough, he pulled a pistol from his holster and shot at both of them. Dar died in hospital. He was flown to Srinagar’s Sonawar home. Dar, was a relative of late journalist Izhar Wani, had talked to his mother, a day ahead of his murder.
TAMIL NADU
Kashmir’s first female IPS officer Dr Ruveda Salam has got TN cadre. Daughter of Salamuddin Bajad, the former Deputy Director in DD, is a resident of far flung Farkian hamlet near LoC in Karnah. She had qualified for MBBS before cracking KAS in 2009. In 2013, she was one of the 11 people who qualified for the civil services from J&K. Authorities say they will explore the possibility of a cadre change that gets her home state. Her father contested Lok Sabha polls unsuccessfully on Peoples’ Conference mandate.

Modi sarkar has made Kashmiri pundits very newsy. Earlier, they were seeking permission to get permission for having pilgrimage of erstwhile Shardha Peth that falls on the other side of the LoC. Now a delegation of them have visited actor turned HRD Minister Smriti Irani and sought, among other things, steps to revive Sharda script for Kashmiri. Pandits must be unhappy that they lost much while following Nehrus’.
LADAKH
A graduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology who went missing more than a week back was found dead in a ravine. Kaitlin Goldstein, 28, of Providence, Rhode Island, she had reportedly slipped while jogging and fell several hundred feet off a cliff on June 14. Goldstein, a competitive runner, was working on a doctorate in architecture at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Amnesty International says 8072 people were booked by J&K government for stone pelting since 2010.
