Seeking immediate action of Ms Mehbooba Mufti led government a lawmaker on Friday informed the Lower House of J&K Legislature that a youth from summer capital has been arrested by “unknown security agency”.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour, National Conference’s Ganderbal Lawmaker, Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar identified the arrested youth as Anwar Ahmad Mir, s/o Ab Rashid Mir, r/o Shivpora, Srinagar has been arrested on late Thursday evening from his residence.
“There no whereabouts him so far,” he told the house seeking immediate action.
The Lawmaker said that the detained youth is a student of Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST).
“Who has arrested him? Why has he been arrested? Who are the agencies involved, government should tell the house,” the NC Lawmaker said.
Speaker, Kavinder Gupta on the occasion said that “government will look into the matter”.
Ishfaq also condemned the “excesses” on civilians of Rampora Qaimoh in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
He asked government to look into this matter as well.
