Scores of Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) students on Wednesday held protests in the university campus against the summoning of Kashmir University Scholar Aala Fazli by the Indian federal investigation agency, NIA.

The National Investigation Agency or the NIA is “questioning” Aala for the last three days.

Carrying banners and demanding an immediate end to the questioning of Aala, the protesting students marched through the campus.

Officials on the varsity refuted the reports that protests were held for the Kashmir University scholar. A senior faculty member told Kashmir Life that no such protests were held in the university campus.

“The protests were actually held to press in the demands of compensation for the slain student Pinky Kaur, who was killed allegedly in a grenade blast at Tral last week.” Besides, the students were demanding a proper probe into the killing.

Kaur, was a second semester MBA student of the University.
