The students of Kashmir University on Wednesday said that they will “lockdown” the university if the “unwarranted” questioning of varsity scholar, Aala Fazili by the Indian federal investigation agency does not stop immediately.

Hundreds of students of various departments of the varsity continued protests for the second consecutive day against the summoning of varsity scholar by the Indian federal investigation agency, NIA.

The students raising slogans “NIA back off” “Go India Go Back” “We Stand With Aala” and in favour of “Aazadi” are marching through the campus.

Boycotting classwork, students of different faculties assembled outside their departments and took out seperate protest marches.

They later joined others outside the law department and jointly marched through the campus.

“The protest marches started from various departments and students are marching through the campus. The protest will culminate outside the Vice Chancellors secretariat,” a student informed Kashmir Life.

He said that the students of the varsity demand the intervention of the VC to put an end to the harassment being meted out to Aala Fazili, who was summoned by NIA on Friday.

Another student said that Aala was deliberately summoned at a time when examinations are going on in the varsity. “They deliberately summoned him during the exam time so that students protests don’t erupt.”

He said that if the vice chancellor does not intervene and if the unwarranted questioning of Aala doesn’t stop, we will continue the protests and University will be locked down.
