After imposing strict restrictions around the Historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar ahead of a Seerat Conference, government lifted the siege around the mosque and also lifted curbs from the residence of Kashmir’s head priest Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

A spokesperson of Hurriyat said that government has lifted the curbs from Jamia as well as Mirwaiz’s residence at Nigeen.

Pertinently, a Seerat Conference has been organised in the Jamia Masjid.

Octogenarian leader Syed Ali Geelani, JKLF chief Yasin Malik and Mirwaiz Umar are supposed to address the conference.

But it remains to be seen whether government will allow Geelani and Malik to reach Jamia.
