SRINAGAR: In a bid to address the increasing number of young people seeking off-road thrill and adventure, Jamkash Vehicleades’s Nexa launched Maruti Suzuki`s off-roader Jimny. The care retailer said it is aimed at young trailblazers who want to stand out and set the trend with their unique choices.
Sunny Kanwar, Nexa N2, RM, joined Irfan Ahmad Narwaroo, MD Jamkash Vehicleades and its CEO, Aawan Ahmad Narwaroo in unveiling the car in the presence of senior management of Kashmir’s major personal car retailer. Bankers from JK Bank, SBI, Mahindra Finance, HDFC Bank, and Cholamandulam Finance were present on the occasion.
The Jimny (5-door) will be available in Zeta and Alpha variants with automatic and manual transmission choices targeted to excite SUV enthusiasts. “With its timeless design and exceptional off-road capabilities powered by Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro (4WD) technology, the Jimny has been breaking stereotypes for over 5 decades since its global debut in 1970,” Erfaan Gul, an executive at the Nexa said. “The launch marks an exhilarating milestone in our SUV portfolio and will play an important role in our goal of becoming the country’s largest SUV maker.”
Gul said the response is delightful. “We are confident that Jimny will empower customers to explore uncharted territories and power through all obstacles with a #NeverTurnBack attitude,” he said.
Beneath its sturdy exterior, the Jimny boasts of a proven 1.5L K-series engine with Idle Start-Stop technology. With optimized torque delivery and specially tuned 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission options, the Jimny delivers a seamless and exhilarating driving experience. The car seller said the vehicle offers an amazing fuel efficiency of 16.94km/l for 5-speed MT and 16.39km/l for 4-speed AT.
Most of the reviews are pitching Jimny as a competitor to Thar but Maruti officials said the comparison is unjustified as Thar is only a 3-door SUV and Jimny is a 5-door.
Jimny starts at Rs 15 lakh on the road and goes up to Rs 16.17 lakh for Alpha and Rs 17.56 lakh for Alpha automatic. It is driven by a 1500cc petrol engine.
