Expressing concern and anguish over the reports that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) are providing arms training to the majority community in the educational institutions of Jammu and organizing of communal gatherings (Shakhas) in the Jammu university, All Parties Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani said that since the inception of Mufti-RSS government in Jammu & Kashmir, the communal and fascist organizations are “considering the Jammu region as their conquered territory and they have begun the process of eliminating the Muslims of the area”.
It cautioned that the Jammu Muslims will not be left on the “mercy of the communal forces and any anti-Muslim activity in the area will trigger a strong reaction in the Kashmir Valley and the people of this region will en-masse move to the Jammu and will protect our brethren there at every cost”.
In a statement, Hurriyat (g) said, “after rendering Muslims shelter less in the name of vacating the forest land, occupying their lands for the construction of Temples, disrespecting and desecration of their religious places, and replacing of the RSS minded people in place of the Muslim officers at the key posts in administration, police, judiciary, revenue and education departments, the communal and fascist forces have now started a wicked and dangerous activities in the Jammu region. Earlier a process of singing of “Vandai Mataram” and dancing was started in the schools and colleges of the region and now the reports are coming that the students of a particular community are being provided arms training. The arms training is not only restricted to the males only but the females are also taught to use the weapons and a co-ordinate program has been launched in cities, towns and villages of the Jammu division. The RSS and VHP activists have turned the Jammu University into a training center for their activities where they organize different programs to spread the communal hatred and prepare new communal minds.”
Hurriyat (g) expressed its surprise and sorrow that the administration is “not only silently watching the suspicious activities of the communal forces but they are encouraging them in every way”.
“They are free to use the schools, colleges and even universities for their communal acts and the state government is action less to stop them,” the statement said.
The statement expressed its apprehension, “all these activities are the beginning of a genocide plan of the Muslim community and according to this plot the Muslim population at first will be frightened and terrorized and then alike 1947 they will be either massacred or forced to migrate from here. Hurriyat, however, cautioned that it is not the 1947 and this time we will not remain silent over the communal acts of the RSS and its allied parties and we will stand shoulder to shoulder with our Jammu brethren.”
The statement further said, “if the government will not rain in the communal forces and did not end the discrimination with the Jammu Muslims, the pro-freedom leadership will come on roads and will start a movement against this.”
