SRINAGAR: Kishtwar Police has declared 23 Kishtwar-based militants operating from Pakistan as proclaimed offenders through an official declaration from the UAPA Special Court, Doda.

The move addresses security challenges within the district, with a total of 36 proclaimed offenders, including 13 militants previously declared by the UAPA Special Court, Doda.

SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal JKPS attributed this success to the efforts of the Kishtwar Police. The process began with the development of crucial intelligence, leading to the lodging of FIR No. 90/2022 U/Sec. 120-B,121-A/IPC 13/18/39/UAPA of PS Chatroo. The investigation, led by CIO Kishtwar Dy SP Vishal Sharma, meticulously presented all formalities before the Hon’ble UAPA special court Doda.

SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal-JKPS emphasised that, following the declaration, the process of property attachment will be carried out U/Sec 83/CrPC if the absconding militants do not surrender within the given timeframe.

The latest compilation of declared offenders comprises individuals such as Manzoor Ahmed, also known as Tahir Inqlabi, Manzoor Ahmed, Ghulam Mohd, Nazir Ahmed, also referred to as Shaheen, Shabir Ahmed, alternatively known as Juniad, Mohd Iqbal Reshi, also identified as Muzamil or Ansari, Mohd. Amin Bhat, Jamal Din Naik, also recognized as Mudasir, Shabir Ahmed, Bashir Ahmed Raina, also alias Showqat, Gulzar Ahmed, known as Javed, Ghulam Hussain Sheikh, Imtiyaz Ahmed, Bashir Ahmed Chopan, Mohd Shafi, alternatively named Amjad, Ghulam Nabi Wani, also called Majid, Abdul Karim, Gulabu, son of Hasham Gujjer, Mushtwaq Ahmed, Mohd Irfan Kahandey, Mohd Rafiq Khandey, Farooq Ahmed Ganie, Mohd Haneef Sheikh, Shah Nawaz Kanth, Nayeem Ahmed, Mohd Iqbal, Shahnawaz, Javid Hussain Giri, Bashir Ahmed Mughal, Gazi-ud-Din, Sattar Din, Imtiyaz Ahmed, Shabir Ahmed, Mohd Rafiq Keen, Muzaffer Ahmed, and Azad Hussain.
