An ACB spokesperson, in a statement, said, “A case under FIR No. 12/2025, registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, was lodged at ACB Police Station Jammu against public servant HC Roshan Din (No. 432/K) of Police Station Kathua. The case pertains to a demand and acceptance of illegal gratification from a complainant in exchange for deleting or removing his name from the list of accused persons in FIR No. 193/2025 registered at PS Kathua. This, despite the complainant having submitted CCTV footage and factory attendance records to the accused as proof of his innocence.”

“After accepting a bribe amounting to Rs 15,000 from the complainant, the accused fled the scene upon sensing the presence of the ACB team and threw the tainted money into nearby bushes along the National Highway near Palli. The tainted amount was later recovered by independent witnesses and seized as evidence,” the spokesperson said.

“The Anti-Corruption Bureau, Jammu, has now arrested the absconding public servant on June 20, 2025. Further investigation is underway,” the spokesperson added. (KNO)
