Jammu and Kashmir Bank Donates Life-Support Ambulance to GMC Udhampur Under CSR Drive

   

SRINAGAR: Reaffirming its commitment to public welfare and healthcare development, JK Bank on Monday handed over a fully-equipped life-support ambulance to the Government Medical College (GMC) Udhampur. The donation, made under the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, is aimed at strengthening emergency medical services in the Jammu Division.

At a brief ceremony held on the college premises, the ambulance keys were handed over by JK Bank’s Zonal Head (Udhampur), Vinay Gupta, to Principal GMC Udhampur, Dr Parmod Kalsotra. The event was attended by MLA (Udhampur West) Pawan Kumar Gupta, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Sonali Rai (IAS), Medical Superintendent Dr Sanjeev Gupta, and senior officials from both the Bank and the Medical College.

Describing the contribution as timely and impactful, MLA Pawan Kumar Gupta said, “This welcome step by J&K Bank will enhance GMC Udhampur’s emergency response capabilities. I commend the Bank’s continued support towards healthcare and other public services.”

Dr Parmod Kalsotra expressed gratitude for the gesture, noting that the ambulance would play a crucial role in critical care and emergency transport. “This will greatly improve our ability to deliver life-saving interventions, particularly in remote or underserved areas,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the Bank, Vinay Gupta said, “Our CSR initiatives focus on areas where they make the most difference. Strengthening healthcare infrastructure, especially through life-saving equipment like this ambulance, remains one of our key priorities.”

The gesture is part of a broader CSR strategy by J&K Bank to contribute to the health, education, and socio-economic development of the region.
