Last week, the Northern Railway conducted a successful 15-km trial run of an electric train for the first time from Banihal to Khari Railway Station in Ramban district.

The eight-car electric train is the Union Territories’ first such train allotment. Furthermore, the Central government may declare the opening of Vande Bharat, which would connect Kashmir to the rest of India before the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.

The Vande Bharat train, a distinct type of train, is manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai.
