SRINAGAR: The district police in Reasi recovered an 18-year-old girl from the Kalakote area of Rajouri, who had gone missing from Chasana area, subsequently reuniting her with her family.

The recovery occurred after a special team was assembled by SSP Reasi, Mohita Sharma.

A resident of Chasana filed a written complaint at the Chasana Police Station on March 25, reporting his daughter missing. Despite extensive efforts, they had been unable to locate her.

“Sensing the seriousness of the situation, SSP Reasi formed a special team to locate the missing girl promptly. Information gathered from the family, relatives, and friends provided valuable leads, activating police resources accordingly,” a police spokesperson said in a statement.

“After thorough investigation, with the assistance of a technical team and continuous vigorous efforts, the Police Station Chassana team pinpointed the girl’s whereabouts in Kalakote District, Rajouri,” the official added.

Police reported that the team, led by SHO Chassana Inspector Ranjeet Rao, conducted raids at various locations, successfully locating and recovering the missing girl.

Following completion of all necessary legal procedures, the missing girl was reunited with her family. The family, relatives, and community members expressed their gratitude to the police for their sincere efforts in locating and reuniting the missing girl—(KNO)
