SRINAGAR: Amidst the ongoing process for the crucial Lok Sabha elections, Congress party leader Harbans Bral joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jammu on Thursday, with party General Secretary Ashok Koul extending a warm welcome to him.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta was also present on the occasion. Hundreds of Bral’s supporters also joined the BJP on the occasion.

Welcoming Bral and others into the party, the General Secretary of the organisation, Ashok Koul, said that anyone who aligns with the ideology of the BJP, which involves working towards strengthening the nation and empowering the masses, is welcome to join. He reiterated that the BJP is a party dedicated to the welfare of the poor and underprivileged, with every party worker committed to uplifting those at the bottom of society.

“People in Jammu and Kashmir are witnessing a transformation in the region, moving towards a brighter future and development. After the abrogation of Article 370, a new era of development has begun in the state,” Koul remarked.

He urged the new entrants to work tirelessly for all sections of society, while actively seeking support for the Modi government in the Lok Sabha elections.
