SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir has achieved more than 93 per cent progress in the digitisation of revenue records, with over 64 lakh khasras approved across the Union Territory under the land records modernisation programme.
Official data revealed that approvals have been granted for 64,06,641 khasras out of a total of 68,59,915 records. Around 3,04,549 cases remain pending at the maker level, 1,10,587 at the checker level, and 38,138 at the approver stage.
Officials said the digitisation drive aims to ensure greater transparency, accuracy and efficiency in land record management. The government had issued comprehensive guidelines in December 2025 for rectification of errors, clearance of backlog mutations, public verification and freezing of Jamabandis, with regular monitoring by divisional commissioners and the Financial Commissioner (Revenue).
According to the data, Ramban, Shopian and Ganderbal districts have achieved 100 per cent completion with no pending cases. Srinagar recorded 99.97 per cent completion, while Budgam, Poonch, Udhampur, Kathua and Kupwara also reported progress of over 99 per cent.
Baramulla, Bandipora and Kulgam registered completion rates above 98 per cent, while Kishtwar achieved 94.11 per cent progress. Jammu district, which has the highest number of khasras, recorded 91.64 per cent completion.
Meanwhile, Doda, Pulwama and Anantnag reported comparatively lower completion rates, while Reasi recorded the lowest progress at 39.38 per cent, with more than 88,000 cases still pending.
