SRINAGAR: The administration in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district on Tuesday disbursed Rs 4 lakh in compensation to the legal heirs of four people killed in road accidents under the Jammu and Kashmir Road Accident Victim Fund.
The beneficiaries received Rs 1 lakh each, with the cases submitted by the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), officials said.
The compensation was provided to Geeta Devi, wife of late Rajinder Kumar of Tagood; Guddi Devi, wife of late Rakesh Kumar of Paddar; Sudesha Devi, wife of late Naresh Kumar of Kwar Dool; and Ghulam Rasool, son of Mukthar Sagar of Tander Sounder, Dachan.
The J&K Government scheme provides financial assistance to families affected by road accidents, while the district administration said the disbursement was aimed at providing timely support to bereaved families.
This version keeps the focus on the Rs 4 lakh disbursement, four beneficiaries and the official fund, without promotional government-release language.
