SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Bank on Monday commissioned a new on-site ATM at Ajote in Poonch district as part of its efforts to strengthen digital banking infrastructure and enhance customer convenience in the region.
The ATM was inaugurated by Ashok Kumar Sharma in the presence of General Manager and Divisional Head (Jammu) Ashok Gupta and Zonal Head (Rajouri) Rajeev Kumar Digra, besides senior officers of the bank, customers and local residents.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma said access to reliable banking services was essential for inclusive growth and financial empowerment. He appreciated the bank’s efforts in expanding banking infrastructure in the district and leveraging technology to improve customer convenience in both urban and remote areas.
He also urged people to make greater use of digital banking channels for secure and hassle-free transactions.
Addressing the gathering, General Manager and Divisional Head (Jammu) Ashok Gupta said the bank remained committed to strengthening its digital banking ecosystem and ensuring access to modern banking facilities across all regions.
He said the commissioning of the ATM at Ajote reflected the bank’s continued efforts to provide convenient, secure and technology-driven banking services closer to the people.
Gupta added that with customer preferences increasingly shifting towards self-service and digital channels, the bank was continuously augmenting its delivery infrastructure to ensure seamless banking services round the clock.
Local residents and customers welcomed the commissioning of the ATM and said the facility would improve access to banking services for residents, traders and other customers in and around Ajote.
With the commissioning of the new facility, the total number of ATMs in the Rajouri Zone, comprising Rajouri and Poonch districts, has risen to 87.
