SRINAGAR: JK Bank organised a seminar-cum-awareness camp today in Budgam, focusing on the High-Density Plantation Scheme. Held in partnership with Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) and the Horticulture Department, the event drew a substantial turnout of farmers interested in the scheme’s potential for enhancing productivity and profitability.
The seminar, held at the District Horticulture Office, featured a detailed presentation by the Bank’s Deputy General Manager (DGM), Rakesh Magotra. Magotra outlined the purpose, benefits, and application process of the High-Density Plantation Scheme, emphasising the financial assistance available to farmers through JK Bank’s credit linkage facilities. He highlighted the bank’s ongoing support for the horticulture sector through government-backed initiatives designed to promote sustainable growth.
Senior Manager Aftab Ahmad Shalla kicked off the event with an introductory overview of the scheme. He was joined by JK Bank’s Cluster Head (Budgam), Lead District Manager (Budgam), and Branch Managers from nearby areas, all of whom engaged directly with the farmers to discuss a range of financial options.
During the camp, the bank’s Financial Literacy and Credit Counselling (FLCC) Facilitator provided information on various social security schemes, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to holistic support for the farming community.
District Horticulture Specialist Masarat Jabeen and Dr Oroosa Khalil, Associate Professor from SKUAST-K, also contributed valuable insights, addressing farmers’ specific questions related to high-density planting practices.
