SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Bank has been named Best MSME Bank – Winner at the MSME Banking Excellence Awards 2025 and also secured the runner-up position in the CSR Initiative and Business Responsibility category, the bank said on Wednesday.
The awards, which recognise outstanding performance and best practices in promoting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), corporate social responsibility and sustainable business models, were presented by Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal at a समारोह held in New Delhi. The awards were received on behalf of the bank by Chief General Manager (Business Development) Sunit Kumar and General Manager and Divisional Head (ROI) Khursheed Muzaffar.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Amitava Chatterjee said the recognition reflected the bank’s sustained focus on the MSME sector and its CSR initiatives. He said MSME financing remains a strategic priority for the bank in line with national development goals and regulatory expectations.
Chatterjee said the bank is exclusively implementing the Union Territory government’s flagship Mission YUVA programme, which aims to create 1.37 lakh enterprises over the next five years and generate employment for about 4.25 lakh youth.
On corporate social responsibility, he said the bank’s initiatives are aligned with national priorities, with focus areas including education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, skill development and livelihood generation.
The MSME Banking Excellence Awards are organised by the Chamber of Indian Micro Small and Medium Enterprises. The jury for the awards was chaired by former Supreme Court judge Justice Deepak Verma, with the evaluation conducted by knowledge partner CareEdge Ratings.
