The decision was taken during a crucial cabinet meeting convened at the Chief Minister’s Gupkar residence in Srinagar, attended by all members of his Council of Ministers. The meeting took serious note of the attack in Baisaran area of Pahalgam on Tuesday afternoon, in which 26 tourists, including a local horse ride operator, were gunned down by terrorists.

The cabinet reviewed the prevailing security situation and discussed measures to support victims and prevent further unrest. One of the key outcomes of the meeting was a proposal to allow employees engaged under the Prime Minister’s package to work from home for a week, considering the current volatile atmosphere.
