Jammu Kashmir Civil Society Adopts Resolution Seeking Immediate Restoration of Statehood

   

SRINAGAR: More than 150 representatives from various sections of Jammu and Kashmir’s civil society on Tuesday unanimously adopted a resolution urging the Union Government to restore full statehood to the Union Territory without further delay.

The resolution was adopted at a meeting held at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar, which was presided over by Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) President Farooq Abdullah and Vice President and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

According to the resolution, the participants called upon the Union Government to restore full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest.

The resolution stated that it reflected the collective and unanimous voice of the civil society representatives present at the meeting, reaffirming the broad-based demand for the immediate restoration of full statehood.

More than 150 representatives from different sections of civil society attended the meeting, which focused on the issue of statehood and its restoration.
