SRINAGAR: Security forces launched a search operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district after a Pakistani drone was spotted hovering over a forward village along the International Border, officials said on Saturday.
The drone-like object was observed coming from the Pakistani side and lingering over Nanga village in the Ramgarh sector late on Friday, triggering alarm among border residents, officials added, as reported by NDTV.
Security forces and police teams were immediately deployed to sweep the area and prevent the airdrop of any payload, including narcotics or weapons, from across the border.
The search operation was ongoing at the time of the last reports, with security heightened in adjoining villages as a precautionary measure.
