SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has amended the rules governing the delegation of financial powers for according administrative approval, technical sanction and awarding contracts, adding the Secretaries (Technical) of the Jal Shakti Department and Power Development Department to the relevant provisions.
The amendment was notified by the Finance Department’s Codes Division under S.O. 257 issued on October 5, 2026, under Section 67 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019.
According to the notification, changes have been made to Annexure-I of the Delegation of Financial Powers relating to administrative approval, technical sanction and award of contracts, originally notified through S.O. 15 dated January 9, 2020.
The notification states that new entries have been added in Table C, under the heading “Power to sanction/award contracts”, against serial numbers 4 and 5. The additions place Secretary (Technical), JSD and Secretary (Technical), PDD alongside the specified existing entries in the “Extent and Remarks” column.
The amendment has been issued by order of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.
