SRINAGAR: In a joint operation on Monday, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Army’s Romeo Force busted a suspected terror hideout in Surankot village of Poonch district, recovering five Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), radio sets, wires, binoculars, and blankets.
According to reports, the operation was conducted following specific intelligence inputs. Photographs released by the Poonch Police showed the recovered material, including multiple radio sets and IEDs.
The recovery comes a day after Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, V K Birdi chaired a joint security review meeting in Srinagar, attended by senior officers from the Police, Army, Intelligence Agencies, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), where the prevailing security challenges in the region were discussed.
